Our dogs are intelligent, driven, and full of capacity. We place them intentionally with people who are ready to develop a working bred dog with structure, consistency, and long-term commitment.
Ownership Standards
We are not the right program for someone looking for a passive companion or an easy pet. We are a better fit for people who want a dog that thinks, wants to be challenged, and is ready to meet them in the work.
- Structure, routine, and clear leadership in daily life
- Commitment to training, outlets, and ongoing development
- Respect for a working dog’s needs and drives
- Willingness to communicate and remain accountable
Continued communication is part of responsible placement. Periodic updates allow us to evaluate long-term outcomes and protect the integrity of our breeding program.
Important: de las Flores Dutch Shepherds does not place emotional support dogs. PTSD placements, when considered, are functional working roles centered on structure, routine, and outward engagement rather than emotional comfort.
How Placement Works
- Start with the application. This helps us understand your experience, goals, household, and expectations.
- Conversation and fit check. We clarify what you want, what you can support, and what kind of dog matches that reality.
- Selection and timing. We match dogs based on temperament, drives, structure, and long-term suitability.
- Support beyond pickup. We remain available to our owners for the life of the dog.
