Vato is a high drive young Belgian Malinois out of our breeding (de las Flores). He shows a lot of promise in three phases of the sport.
His tracking is methodical, footstep-to-footstep and does not get flustered if he loses the track. He calmly searches the area until he locates the track. He learned to track in one session where I laid two short tracks. The first track I showed him what I wanted to do and where the origin of the scent was and he figured out that by finding the origin of the scent, he will get a reward.
His Obedience is coming along fine. I basically let him be a pup. The last couple of weeks I have been introducing some heeling, sit and down exercises. His focus is very nice, however, his energy gets the best of him.
His protection is super. The drive to bite is "insane", chases the tug relentlessly, his grip is solid and a bit serious for his age. He means it when he bites. Tried some runaways and, Oh boy! Watch out. He comes like a freaking rocket and does not slow down.
